An estimated one in eight Ohioans cannot reliably afford food. Greater Cleveland Aquarium and Hunger Network are encouraging those in a position to help to drop off canned vegetables, dry beans, nut butter, whole grain cereal and other much-needed items Wednesday, November 1 through Thursday, November 9 between 10am and 4pm. Anyone donating an item at the Aquarium during the drive will be offered $5 off same-day admission.
With more than 70 Hunger Centers across Cuyahoga County, Hunger Network is one of Cuyahoga County’s largest emergency food providers, providing millions of healthy meals each year. Hunger Network pays for 95% percent of the food the organization distributes, even with food rescue and donations. In 2022, Hunger Network successfully served 161,191 families in need.
Because Annual Passholders already can visit the Flats West Bank family attraction at no cost, Aquarium members can take advantage of free same-day admission for an accompanying guest for each article they bring from the Hunger Network’s wishlist.
For questions about donating, contact the Greater Cleveland Aquarium at 216.862.8803 or visit greaterclevelandaquarium.com.
