Hope Church is blessed with 10 acres of mostly open sight lines and we’re setting up a free festive day complete with fun activities, food trucks, live programs & live music! All are invited to join us! Most local school districts surrounding Hope Church will close their schools on eclipse day. This provides a great opportunity to engage students and their families. Through our partnership with local schools, we will be promoting pre-eclipse outreach activities as well as the eclipse day event. We will have maximum accessibility for wheelchairs and programming appropriate for those with special needs. We will also engage non-native English speakers with English as a Second Language (ESL) programming with visual references with English and Spanish text that will incorporate eclipse science principles including physics and astronomy terms with a focus on the physics of the Sun, Earth and Moon with an emphasis on safety.
The public is able to
request free solar eclipse viewing glasses from Hope Church. Glasses will be distributed at this free event. Reserved glasses will be held until 2:00 p.m. After that, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
