Four-time Grammy nominee saxman-keyboardist-producer-songwriter Boney James’s career has been nothing if not prolific, earning four RIAA certified gold albums and 10 CDs atop Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. (His 2015 album, futuresoul, spent 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Char!.) Since his 1992 breakout as a solo artist, Boney is credited with virtually creating the genre of “urban jazz,” while also becoming a major force in the worlds of Contemporary & Smooth Jazz plus R&B. On tour, playing a catalog of his hits, Boney also includes songs from his most recent album, Honestly, which he says reflects a different side of his musical personality on each of the tracks.
