Summer returns to CLE. Time to party.

Summer in The Land

Sure, Cleveland winters can be a bit...much. But that turns the city’s summers into a season-long celebration of sun, food, music, beaches and fun. With an average temp of 80 degrees, The Land is the place to celebrate summertime.

The Young Professionals of Parma (YPOP), in conjunction with the cities of Parma and Parma Heights, is excited to bring back the Parma area’s annual Pizza Bake Off on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Parma’s UAW Hall (5615 Chevrolet Boulevard). This indoor, family-friendly event will feature live music, beer and wine, dessert, raffles, games, entertainment, and, of course, pizza. Proceeds will benefit the Parma Police K9 Unit. Guests of all ages from all over are invited again to enjoy sampling pizza from the area’s array of ovens — including Casamel’s Pizza, Donatos Pizza, Master Pizza, Napoleon’s Pizza, P.Jay’s Pizza, and Primoz Pizza — then vote for the best slice! In addition to voting for People’s Choice, the event welcomes a panel of high-profile judges including Parma Chief of Police Joseph Bobak, Schnitz Ale Brewery Owner Igor Djurin, and Parma Councilwoman Kelly Zacharias who will evaluate slices on crust, sauce, and more. Entertainment will be provided throughout the night including music from The Frank and Dean Show from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as they transform the UAW Hall into an authentic pizza parlor with a Rat Pack style show. They’ll continue to provide DJ Services to keep the party going from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will also feature a face painter, a photo booth, a magician and balloon artist from Zap Entertainment, and other activities and games for kids. The first 50/50 raffle will be pulled at 7:30 p.m., with a second pull and chance to win a beer tower at 9 p.m. Tickets are available in advance online for $12 for adults and $6 for kids 6 to 12. Children 0 to 5 are free. Tickets will also be available at the door for $18 for adults and $12 for kids. Tickets include pop/water, a pizza-shaped cookie from Breads and Beyond Bakery, and a punch card for pizza samples. Also, enjoy beer from Parma’s own Schnitz Ale Brewery, along with wine available for purchase. Save money on drink tickets when you purchase ahead of time online as well. The first 150 registrants will receive early access to the event at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available now at ParmaPizza.org. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are also available. Please note: The UAW Hall has a parking lot, but if the lot fills up, additional parking will be available in the empty lot behind Citizens Bank at the corner of Chevrolet Blvd and Snow Road. A shuttle bus will shuttle guests between the lot and the UAW Hall.
