Visit Me in CLE Weekend
Attention yogis and zen-hunters! Need a spiritual lift? Meet us on the mat at the beautiful Edgewater Park for a completely unique yoga experience that combines Mother Nature’s show-stopping scenery, positive energy, soothing music, meditation, hiking, health and more.
Really, it’s a choose-your-adventure kind of situation. If you like to mix your yoga with a bit more high-energy movement, Hikyoga offers hiking/yoga hybrids with guided explorations around the park with incredible views. These are 75-minute sessions starting with a warm-up yoga round, then a trek up one of the park’s trails, and tossing in a mid-hike yoga sesh before heading back to the beach.
Not your style? Stick around the beach the whole day for meditation, a mix of slow-flow and power yoga, and plenty of good vibes. When you’re not downward-dogging, explore the local artisans and vendors showcasing everything from yogi gear to ceramics to healthy juices.
You know what makes a calming Shavasana even better? The sound of actual waves.
Edgewater Park, part of the Cleveland Metroparks, is one of the city’s most stunning spots. You’d forget that you’re a mere two miles from a bustling downtown if it weren’t for the awesome skyline peeking over the eastern edge of the park.
If you haven’t been to Edgewater Park in the past three years, you haven’t been. The space was completely renovated, with an enlarged beach, a multi-functional beach house and a revitalized park.
The location is an ideal setting for rejuvenation, with Lake Erie’s steady flow creating the perfect visualization for breathing in the good and breathing out the negative. Paths and trails lead around the park and up to wooded hilltops overlooking the lake and the city skyline. And to top it off, the beach’s crescent curve ends with an iconic willow tree at the eastern point, representing harmony and life. Nope, not making this up.
Cleveland Ohio Yoga Festival brings water, nature, sunshine, fresh air, music and art together for a unique opportunity to practice yoga and meditate as a community. The more, the better as everyone harnesses the power of group energy. Bring your friends, your family, your neighbor and your coworkers whether they’re veteran yogis or trying it out for the first time.
The event coincides with Cleveland’s Visit Me in CLE weekend, making it a fantastic opportunity to introduce (or reintroduce) your out-of-town friends and relatives to the amazing beauty and vibrancy of Cleveland.
While you’re there, head to Upper Edgewater Park for an unbelievable view of the Cleveland skyline over the water, and get a group pic at one of the famous Cleveland script signs. Hashtag it with #VisitMeinCLE and spread the word.
