The Community Cup Classic Foundation, Josh Gibson Foundation, Lifeline Sports and The PARTNERSHIP proudly present another year of events.
A barrier can be defined as "any condition that makes it difficult to make progress or to achieve an objective." – [Merriam Webster Dictionary] This presentation looks at the intersection of baseball, social conditions, and culture. The African American experience in the US has long been connected with and played out through the prism of the national pastime. Whether it be the challenge to break through the ranks or continuing to raise the profile of both the players and the game itself, it is impossible to tell the tale of Major League Baseball without including the accounts of those who broke through some of the barriers of the game that once excluded them.
We are thankful to the Cuyahoga County Arts and Culture Council for funds to support our efforts. As a result all programs are free.
Donations to support the community and youth efforts of the Community Cup Classic Foundation and Josh Gibson Foundation are welcome .
We have made a few changes to this year's registration process to hopefully ease your access through the virtual log in for the presentation.
All of your log in credentials and notifications will be emailed directly to you at this email address. You will also receive a reminder and a notification that the meeting will begin shortly with a link to access the session the day of the presentation. (Approximately 30 minutes before the meeting will begin.)
