Burning River Roller Derby is excited to announce Black and Blue 14, an annual charity bout that divides the league into two teams for one of the most exciting roller derby events of the year. Each year, we select a local charity to support through a portion of the proceeds from this bout. The charity selected will be receiving the monies collected from our guest captain auctions, raffles, and the proceeds from our ticket sales. They will also be in-house for the bout for anyone wanting to donate further or gather more information on the organization. This year’s event benefits Colors+Youth Center, a nonprofit LGBTQ+ youth center located in Northeast Ohio. Their mission is to build a healthy youth community using a holistic mind and body approach and to create a safe space to empower LGBTQ+ youth to grow as individuals and within their community. In addition to the bout, which is always entertaining, a special highlight of the night will be the halftime show: Full-Contact Musical Chairs...on skates!
