Radio One Cleveland (which includes WZAK-FM, WENZ-FM, WJMO-FM) in partnership with Destination Cleveland and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, are kicking off the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony’s week of activities and events with Celebration Day on Sunday, Oct. 24. Radio One will be hosting a live remote outside on the Rock Hall plaza from 4-6 p.m. that day, and will lead a Cleveland rendition of the popular line dance, the “Trans-Europe Express.”
Kraftwerk, the German band behind the song “Trans-Europe Express” and widely considered to be the forefathers of electronic music, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at RocketMortgage Fieldhouse this October. The line dance was popularized here in Cleveland in the 1980s and is still a favorite at block parties, reunions, parties and family gatherings.
Ready to get in on the action? Head to the Rock Hall Plaza for a FREE afternoon of dancing and partying with Sam Sylk, WZAK-FM mid-day host. The Celebration Day party then continues with more outdoor celebrations starting at 7 p.m. as part of Celebration Day at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
