When the crowd gathers on the street in the center of the village to witness the charming ceremony at 6 p.m., it’s the highlight of a day filled with the joys of the holidays – memories, family, peace and friendship. Those who have made the Candlelightings a tradition, know that a Candlelighting Saturday is a full day of experiences that make Christmas special.
Celebrate Historic Roscoe Village Christmas Candlelighting Ceremony Saturday, December 4th & Saturday, December 11th.
During the afternoon, guest may enjoy a visit with Santa, hear strolling carolers, enjoy complimentary hot-mulled cider and cookies, roasted chestnuts and other holiday festivities. At 6:00 pm Roscoe Village begins celebrating the holiday season at the main stage with the Christmas Candlelighting Ceremony. Experience the Village holiday tradition of the Christmas tree lighting and the joy of an old fashion tradition. Admission and parking are free.
“A Roscoe Christmas” lantern tour will begin at the Visitor Center after each Candlelighting Ceremony at 7:00pm. Learn about the canal era holiday traditions and how they were practiced in the 1830s.
