Ain’t no party like an Edgewater party, ‘cause an Edgewater party don’t stop!
Unless it’s dusk, then the park closes. In which case, the party continues the following week when you get to do it all over again.
In Cleveland, we take the sacred art of happy hour very seriously. When summer rolls around, we celebrate with the best happy hour beach party on the North Coast. Refreshing adult beverages, live music and tasty eats are all in store Thursdays this summer when Edgewater LIVE takes over on the shore of Lake Erie
Edgewater LIVE
Every Thursday starting May 30, thousands will flock to Edgewater Beach with their coworkers or families for what has become appointment partying in Cleveland. There’s something about seeing a mix of tank tops, half-undone neckties, bathing suits and barefoot businesspeople all having a great time together that gives you a real sense of what this city is about.
The Sounds of Summer
The party kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with live music from the Tri-C Creative Arts Program, followed by a different headlining band every week at 6 p.m. This year’s rotation is one of the best we’ve seen yet:
- May 30: Cleveland's Breakfast Club | ’80s Rock
- June 6: Bronx Country | Country
- June 13: Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band | Reggae
- June 20: Front Porch Lights | Indie Rock
- June 27: Recess | Pop / Rock
- July 11: The Benjaminz | R&B / Motown
- July 18: Disco Inferno | Disco / Funk / ’70s & ‘80s
- July 25: The Cover Ups | ‘90s / Rocking Dance Party
- August 1: The Prince Project Band | Prince Tribute Band
Make sure to bring a beach chair or picnic blanket to get the full experience. Or rent a chair, umbrella or cabana from the on-site Nature Shop.
Leave the Cooler at Home
Every Cleveland summer party is assured to have at least two things: delicious food and cold drinks.
Edgewater LIVE delivers on both with gourmet bites from an ever-evolving group of the finest local food trucks in the city, sweet ice cream treats, frosty craft brews and frisky summertime cocktails. The seasonal bar at the beach house features a variety of craft cocktails, as well as beers from local brewing bigshots like Fat Head’s Brewing and Great Lakes Brewing Company.
Don’t Just Sit There
As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s even more to do. You’re at a beach, after all. Roll up your dress pants and step onto that beach volleyball court to get those competitive juices flowing. Or, hit up one of the cornhole matches all around you (you only need one hand to hold your beer, anyway). Take advantage of Lake Erie and go for a swim, or bring your kayak or paddleboard. The Cleveland Metroparks provides a myriad of discovery activities for children, as well.
Nope, It’s Not a Dream
The 900-foot Edgewater Beach and surrounding Lakefront Reservation were recently acquired by the region's acclaimed park system encircling the city — The Cleveland Metroparks. Much to the glee of locals, the park received a transformative facelift thanks to its new operators.
As a result, this beach and the surrounding park are downright spectacular. So, celebratory happy hours every Thursday just make sense, right?
Right. We'll cheers to that.
