Celebrate the 50th anniversary of our beloved Cuyahoga River catching fire, and the subsequent environtmental reforms and waterway conservation efforts, with a series of events dedicated to showcasing how far this jewel of Cleveland has come in a half century.
The City of Cleveland and more than 200 partner organizations are hosting the largest series of clean water events in the country. There will be more than 25 public events, lectures and community conversations to further ignite involvement, change, understanding, and partnership like Burning River Fest at the historic Coast Guard station; Blazing Paddles, a stand-up paddleboard race, canoe and kayak celebration; and the Cuyahoga 50 Lighted Boat Parade.
North Coast Harbor will host activities spanning both the Great Lakes Science Center and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with programming that’ll be sure to tickle your noggin. Interact with local organizations, participate in science activities and network with those that share our passion for sustainability. Live musical performances by Hey Mavis and The Labra Brothers.
