Sail Away: July 11-14
Living on the Great Lakes isn’t all that different than living by the ocean. You walk to the shore and gaze out at an endless horizon with waves lapping rhythmically and crashing on the break. It’s basically the same, right?
Naturally, the thoughts of anyone with a sense of adventure turn to what it’s like to sail out on the vast, open water with the wind in your hair and sails billowing overhead.
In this case, you’ve got a few options: (a) befriend some dude with a boat, (b) start a hip-hop group and film your music video on a boat, or (c) head to the 2019 Cleveland Tall Ships Festival. (Pssst: our vote is for “c.”)

The 2019 Cleveland Tall Ships Festival is your ticket to experiencing the adventure and romance of Cleveland’s maritime history when it sails into port near FirstEnergy Stadium on Downtown Cleveland’s Lakefront July 11-14.
The festival presents the perfect end to an exciting week hosting the 2019 MLB® All-Star Game®, starting with the Parade of Sail on Thursday evening, July 11 (beginning at 4 p.m. from public viewing areas only), featuring traditionally rigged sailing vessels from the United States, Canada and New Zealand, crewed in part by youth aged 13-25.

This isn’t a look-but-don’t touch kind of situation. Tall Ships offers a myriad of fun weekend activities.
Proceeds from the festival help support Tall Ships America, a nonprofit dedicated to youth education, leadership development and the preservation of North America’s maritime heritage.
