Your Guide to the CLE Script Signs

You've seen them in your social media feeds, you see them on TV and you see them proudly displayed in publications both locally and nationally.  We're talking about those Cleveland script signs and their scenic backdrops, which offer some of the best group photo ops in The Land.

The signs are a creation of Destination Cleveland, which installed the original three signs in 2016. Today, Cleveland boasts six signs that remain just as popular as when we unveiled them.

So, grab some friends and head to one of these signs to upgrade your FB cover photo. And, while you're at it, be sure to tag those friends who never visit while using the hashtag #ThisisCLE.

Tremont

1502 Abbey Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113

The Tremont neighborhood sign features a backdrop of the majestic Innerbelt and Shoreway bridges, as well as a wide view of the tallest structures in the city like Terminal Tower, Key Tower and the new Sherwin-Williams building. At night, some visitors like to add some bang to their shots by taking photos when the Indians have a fireworks show at Progressive Field. Spend a day (or night) in Tremont, which boasts an even mix of indie art galleries, cool boutiques and amazing culinary experiences.

Edgewater Park

6500 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, Cleveland, OH 44102

The script sign at Edgewater Park welcomes its visitors before they even make their way down to the beach area. Depending on the season, there are usually a lot of things happening at the park - from beaching and boating to wintertime surfing and sledding. This spot is popular for early sunrise photos, and great for anyone who wants a picture that combines the city and Lake Erie.

North Coast Harbor

East 9th Street Pier, Cleveland, OH 44114

The third of the original signs finds itself behind the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and within close proximity to the Great Lakes Science Center and the Goodtime III. The Rock Hall, Terminal Tower and Hilton Downtown Cleveland make a perfect backdrop during a sunset photo at the script sign. It offers a glittering, south-facing cityscape shot.

Euclid Beach

16301 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44110

The fourth Cleveland script sign is the farthest east and offers a west-facing view of the city skyline. Located in Euclid Beach Park, the sign offers both a picturesque look at Lake Erie and Euclid Beach. With clear blue skies, mid-morning and early afternoon photos will be the hit of your Instagram feed.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

5300 Riverside Dr., Cleveland, OH 44135

The fifth script sign was installed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Located near baggage claim, the sign welcomes everyone to the city in style. If you're visiting Cleveland, be sure to snap a photo and to let everyone know you just touched down in The Land.

The Foundry

1831 Columbus Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113

The sixth script sign, which was installed in August of 2018, is located at the uber-unique location of The Foundry, located on the Flats West Bank. This location offers an incredibly special cityscape view from the Cuyahoga River. If you're lucky, you might just capture a huge Lake Erie freighter in the background. Better still, make a stop inside The Foundry, a rowing and sailing center, to take fitness classes and lessons.
