Cleveland is constantly transforming, with new restaurants and attractions popping up all the time. In fact, even our most storied institutions want in on the game, enhancing and sometimes reinventing themselves in some pretty remarkable ways. Here’s how just a few of our CLE standbys are getting bigger and better.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame turned 25 in 2020, but it isn’t gathering any moss. A planned $100 million expansion will add a guitar pick-shaped addition packing 50,000 square feet of new exhibition and event space. Plus, a new band shell overlooking Lake Erie will crank up the volume for concerts and performances. (As if you needed another excuse to revel in this iconic CLE landmark.)

Like its lakefront neighbor, Great Lakes Science Center is also celebrating 25 years. While the center hasn’t yet revealed its plans for marking the milestone, festivities will undoubtedly include marvels of technology and nature. In the meantime, you can get hands-on with STEM exhibits, gawk at the giant screen in the IMAX dome and space out in the NASA Glenn Visitors Center. Far out!

Hey, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, 100 looks good on you! Since celebrating its centennial in 2020, the museum has unveiled the first updates in a $150 million expansion—namely a behind-the-scenes Current Science area and a newly revamped auditorium and courtyard. Renovations will culminate with a new exhibit wing under a sweeping, white façade meant to evoke the Ice Age glaciers that shaped the region.

Your busy life might sometimes feel like it’s gone off the rails, but thankfully Cedar Point is still on track. Having marked its 150th anniversary in 2020, the epic amusement park has extended the party into 2021 with a special Gold Pass for $129 (including unlimited visits and free parking). Enjoy new attractions such as a family-friendly river expedition and a spectacular nighttime celebration to light up the Main Midway.
