The story chronicles a middle class, black, gay couple who adopts a child from a county agency, while they’re forced to navigate religious opposition from family members and a distressing hate crime. Its central questions concern the definition of kinship and religious intolerance of LGBTQ+ lives and rights.
These monthly drag shows at Coventry’s Grog Shop have become a staple of east side nightlife. Join host Anhedonia Delight as she presents an inclusive, all-ages production that incorporates themes to elevate the artists and audiences alike. This month, glam meets geek as the theme – 8-Bit Bozos – features a show inspired by arcades, video games and cartoons.
Is it any surprise that one of Downtown Cleveland’s hottest hotels would host one of its hottest drag shows? Audiences can’t get enough of Queens of the 9, hosted by the incomparable Veranda L’Ni. Pride celebrations in June commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City when police crackdowns on LGBTQ bars lead LGBTQ+ people to take to the streets to demand equal treatment.
