8 Record Shops Worth A Hop

"Vinyl isn't a thing anymore." - No one in Cleveland, ever.

August 10, 2022 Jen Jones Donatelli

Vinyl fanatics are spoiled by Cleveland’s diverse record emporiums. Whether you're treasure-hunting for underground sounds or old-school standbys, we've got a record shop for that.

Gotta Groove Records

Head northeast of Downtown for Gotta Groove Records (one of the nation’s most well-respected platter-pressing plants--yes, you can schedule a tour, too).

Hausfrau Record Shop

Gordon Square’s Hausfrau Record Shop stocks new and old LPs spanning all genres.

Blue Arrow Records

In the funky Waterloo Arts District, visit used-vinyl haven Blue Arrow to revisit decades of music history. The floor of this music house--embellished in shellacked record covers--is worth the visit alone.

My Mind's Eye

My Mind’s Eye in Lakewood is the go-to place for punk, metal and rock.

Bent Crayon

One of Cleveland's foremost record stores, Bent Crayon is known for containing some serious treasures when it comes to underground music.

Record Revolution

Touting it's claim-to-fame as the oldest independent record store in the U.S., this gem along Coventry Avenue is the perfect spot for crate digging.

Loop Café

This bi-level record store and coffee house specializes in hard-to-find releases and roasted in-house coffee.

A Separate Reality Records

At A Separate Reality, owner Augustus Payne keeps it old-school with a massive selection of rare finds from the 1960s-1990s—sealing the deal as Cleveland’s largest used vinyl store.
