Holden wasn’t alive when The Flats were The Flats (as Harvey would say), but that’s not stopping him from living there (and West 6th, and West 25th) every night from grabbing his morning bagel at Cocky’s to BOGO drafts during Monday Night Football. Sure, he worked hard at his first job as a junior account manager at his uncle’s investment firm, but he plays just as hard.
Whether he’s grabbing his black cold brew from Rising Star (Starbucks is for plebes), snagging a power lunch from Balance or grabbing a protein-packed acai bowl from The Beet Jar, Holden is very particular about where he’s seen and what he puts in his body. His typical weeknight consists of getting home to his Downtown apartment, changing and getting a head start on his run club friends by jogging over the bridge to Ohio City for the Tuesday night trot with RunWithTheWinners. This is the only run club Holden will go to, because his identity is very tied to being a winner (which makes Cleveland a bit of a struggle in certain seasons).
Holden loves how walkable his city is, exploring every neighborhood and secret path with his French Bulldog, Kyrie. He never misses dollar dog night at Progressive Field, or a pop-up vintage market that’s selling one-of-one Cleveland gear and has a partial season ticket package at Rocket Arena. (He also has a LeBron Miami jersey buried in the back of his closet somewhere.) On Saturdays, he wakes up early to shoot hoops with the Cleveland kid he’s a Big Brother to, then hits a late champagne brunch at Lago before heading back to his place for a nap until it’s time to meet up with his buddies on East 4th for the pregame for a true downtown nightlife experience.
