Here We Go
That swift rush of pride you feel when you reach the summit of a day long hike. Or, the electrifying energy of seeing your favorite player win that really important game. Somewhere along the line, we all forgot that vacations are meant to help us escape from the everyday humdrum of life — and get our hearts thumping and pumping. It's time get going just south of Downtown Cleveland to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Pro Football Hall of Fame where adrenaline is the name of the game.
Things to Do
- Just 20 miles outside of Downtown Cleveland sits on of the country's most treasured slices of natural escapism: The Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Encompassing more than 32,000 acres of federally protected land, this place can keep you going to days.
- A nearly 100-mile trail — perfect for biking and jogging — just minutes from a major U.S. city? Cleveland has it. Traveling north to south, The Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail (or simply "The Towpath") takes visitors on an adventurous journey through the parks systems in the counties of Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark, Stark and Tuscarawas. Along the trail, you'll find historic buildings, museums, niche little villages, restaurants, pubs, incredible wildlife, retail and all that nature.
- Located just southeast of Akron, is the city of Canton, which is home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And, assuming you like football, you’re definitely in the right place. Interactive exhibits, historic memorabilia and the iconic busts make this ground zero for pigskin fans of any age.
