October in Cleveland isn't just synonymous with baseball, vibrant foliage and pumpkin spice...well...everything, it's also the month when the highly anticipated Broadway series at Playhouse Square begins.

This season will be off to a delicious start with the national opening tour of Waitress, the Broadway musical based on the 2007 film starring Keri Russell.

In this live stage version, audiences will meet Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Faced with an unexpected pregnancy, Jenna fears she may have to abandon the dream of opening her own pie shop forever, until a baking contest in a nearby county and the town's handsome new doctor heat things up. Supported by her quirky crew of fellow waitresses and loyal customers, Jenna discovers the secret ingredient to her happiness has been within her all along.

As a result of the Cleveland casting call, Jenna's daughter, Lulu, will be played by local cuties (check their FB page to find out more) and Cleveland Fox 8's Natalie Herbick will find herself under the bright lights in a walk-on role.

Have we whet your palate yet? If so, it's easy as pie to be a part of this event. See our list of menu items below to find out how you can partake in the excitement.

Destination Cleveland and Playhouse Square are planning to serve up a few special events where you'll have the opportunity to share the love, Cleveland style.

Pop-Up Welcome Parties
Sara Bareilles, author of the show's music and lyrics, will be in town for Opening Night to help launch the tour. We're also planning to greet the cast and crew as they roll into town.
