Destination Cleveland's Concierge Team builds customized itineraries
By Nicole Canitano
Whether you're an out-of-towner who needs some travel tips ("How far is my hotel from the RTA?" "Where can I grab a really good beer?") or a Clevelander prepping for an adventure ("Where are the best places for my bachelorette party?" "What time does the St. Pat's Parade start?"), Destination Cleveland is your wing man.
Did you know our team of expert CLE Concierges can create customized itineraries at no charge? Yep. All you have to do is swing by the Cleveland Visitors Center, shoot us an , chat with us live or give us a call at 800.321.1001.
Suffice it to say, our team is treated to daily face-to-face interactions with visitors to The Land. The opportunities to learn why these visitors are here and what they want to see and do are plentiful. And, so are the interesting, touching and, at times, amusing stories that come out of these authentic interactions. Here's one:
Fishing for Warmer Clothes. Or Not.
Two guys from Bakersfield, California, here visiting relatives, found their way to the Cleveland Visitors Center on a balmy (for Cleveland, anyway), 29-degree day in February. They were looking for information on where they could do some fishing while in town.
CLE Concierge Lauren, presented with this unusually timed request, got to work creating an itinerary for the adventurous duo.
Besides catching fish, Lauren was slightly concerned that these thin-blooded westerners might also catch hypothermia in the process. So, the first stop on the itinerary our team devised for these gentlemen was to Geiger's Downtown Cleveland to purchase warmer clothing.
In an ironic twist, as the friends were leaving to head down Euclid Avenue, they were nearly trampled by a group of people—wearing only underwear—running in Cleveland's annual Cupid Undie Run.
This "tail" wraps up with the guys popping their heads back in the door of the Cleveland Visitor Center to say (through laughter), "This is such a great place to visit!"
So, swing by the Cleveland Visitors Center right around the corner of East 4th Street and Euclid Avenue. Our CLE Concierge Team has expertise on how to experience the city. And, sometimes, we even have cookies.
