The Real Black Friday's Black Business Expo & A Taste of Black Cleveland is happening for its fifth year at Public Square on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 3-8 p.m. Free and open to anyone, this popular festival-like event features live music, food, shopping and children's activities.
Naturally, this event is a pretty epic way to spend a sunny summer day in CLE. But, it's also an incredible opportunity to shop and learn about the more than 200 black-owned businesses, products and services that'll be there on Public Square.
Music will be a big part of the Sunday event including from headliner Ray J, as well as Dee-1, B. Landrum, Dre Walton, Billie Mitchell, London Arrington and Dave.
Event organizers have also put together what they like to call "A Gospel Explosion," which headlines gospel artists including EJ Animal, Latoya Rogers, Tammy Davis and Geoffrey Golden.
Food & Fun
It's a family friendly event, with other highpoints including "Powerful Words" performances; a fashion show; a car and motorcycle show; a boxing ring; DJs spinning all day, as well as the much-anticipated "Battle of the Bands," featuring competitors from Warrensville Heights, Shaw and Maple Heights high schools.
And, like any good Cleveland event, this unique event will have food - and plenty of it. Dozens of black restaurateurs and food trucks will be on-site to serve-up some of the best culinary in The Land.
Everyone is Welcome
Organizers are quick to note that while the primary focus of the Black Business Expo & Taste of Black Cleveland is on black economic empowerment, the event isn't simply for just African American folks. Black businesses need the support of the entire spending population to succeed, not just from a specific group.
So, all are welcome and encouraged to attend. For more information, visit TheRealBlackFriday.com.
