The Best Browns tailgate and watch party spots

...because in Cleveland tailgating isn't just an activity, it's a way of life.

It's football season in The Land, which means the time-honored, Northeast Ohio tradition of early morning Miller High Life and elaborate breakfasts in a parking lot has returned. That's right, it's Browns time, which means, perhaps equally importantly, it's tailgating time. Whether you've been to the city before countless times or you're a complete newcomer to the Cleveland tailgating scene, there's always more to learn. Here's a guide of the best places to get the full Sunday Funday experience:

Best Tailgating locations
The Municipal Lot: The Municipal Parking Lot is the legendary Browns tailgating spot that has to be experienced to be believed. The Muni Lot, as we lovingly call it, is where you'll find the die-hard Browns fans with their decked out RVs, buses and trailers. It fills up by 7 or 8 a.m. but even if you don't have a set up (or friends with one) it's worth taking a stroll through to see it for yourself. Most likely event to occur: Someone hands you a drink and offers you a brat and a round of cornhole. You make fast friends in the Muni Lot.

The Pit: Similar to the Muni Lot but with slightly less fanfare, you can have a fantastic tailgate experience in this mainstay on West 3rd St. A huge plus for both The Pit and the Muni is their walkable proximity to First Energy Stadium if you've got tickets to the game.

Rock Hall: If you're looking for a more low-key tailgate party, checkout the parking lots near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Voinovich Bicentennial Park. Just down the street from the stadium, you'll be treated to great views of the city and the lakefront as well as plenty of room to set up your food and pregame cornhole or KanJam.

Best Watch Parties
West 6th Street: It's hard to go wrong on West 6th during game day with staples like Golic's and Dive Bar having great specials each week. You're also just a two minute walk from Map Room, which offers drink and pizza specials. We'll have more on another West 6th pick in a moment.

Pumpkin Nation/Barley House: Pumpkinhead is one of the most well known Browns fans (trust me, you've seen him) and he runs a Browns Backers club chapter. Part of the promotion includes his tailgate party at Barley House on West 6th street, winner of the 2016 Cleveland Hotlist best tailgate. Come for the fun with Pumpkinhead and stay for the game as Barley House is loaded with televisions and great food and beer choices.

Nano Brew: Nano is one of several breweries on West 25th and they're all great for watching the game. What sets Nano apart is their large amount of seating both inside and outside and a great beer list (OK, they all have great beer lists). Start at Nano and work your way down 25th as the game progresses.
