Few attractions anywhere can offer the kind of instant “wow” factor that’s experienced in Cleveland’s Nautica Entertainment Complex.
For one, visitors are treated to sweeping views of the Cuyahoga River flowing into regal Lake Erie. But, it’s the giant lake freighters slowly swashing along the twisty curves of the steep embankments, passing timeworn factories and peeking underneath massive jackknife bridges that leave many in awe. And when it’s juxtaposed against a glitzy metropolitan backdrop and sparkling nightlife scene, it’s quite breathtaking.
But, the Nautica Entertainment Complex is a lot more than just a panorama of killer views.
In fact, this massive complex contains more than a dozen venues offering a variety of entertainment, dining and sporting experiences for visitors and locals alike.
For tour operators, it’s a one-stop shop for group rates and experiences.
Just Add Water Group Tour Package
Most people recognize the complex by the historic FirstEnergy Powerhouse, an 1850s power plant that provided electricity to Cleveland’s street cars.
Today, that stately structure situated along the Cuyahoga River contains several businesses — but namely the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. Home to more than 5,000 underwater sea creatures, the aquarium showcases everything from Lake Erie smallmouth bass and giant stingrays to African tortoises and sand tiger sharks.
And, just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away is the dock for the Nautica Queen, a majestic dining cruise ship that includes two enclosed decks and spacious open-air decks that cruise Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River. Groups ranging in size from 25 to 300 can enjoy on-board entertainment, prepared meals and, of course, scenic views of the city.
Tour operators can lock in group rates to each of these venues as part of the “Just Add Water” package, featuring aquarium tickets (guided or self-guided) as well as several meal options for cruising on the Nautica Queen.
Other Fun in the Nautica Entertainment Complex
Inside the historic powerhouse, visitors also will find Trolley Tours of Cleveland, a local tour company that offers guided sightseeing tours of Cleveland aboard their famous red “Lolly the Trolley.” Group tour offerings are available.
For those groups who love a great concert, the 5,000-seat covered Jacob’s Pavilion offers a variety of entertainment throughout the warmer-weather months including everything from Idina Menzel and The Beach Boys to Slayer and Bare Naked Ladies.
And, finally, if your group is seeking some incredible riverside dining with a side of great live music, look no further than Music Box Supper Club. Groups can select from pre-designed packages featuring discounted rates, free bus parking and indoor/outdoor seating, all uniquely centered around the music of your choosing. Also included in the facility is The Rusty Anchor, a fine dining restaurant also offering group tour options.
Other venues with the Nautica Entertainment Complex include:
• Great Lakes Watersports (jet skis, kayaks, etc.)
• Improv Comedy Club (comedy)
• McCarthy’s Ale House (bar/restaurant)
• Shooters on the Water (bar/restaurant)
• Windows on the River (banquet facility)
