Ring in the new year in style

"What are you doing for New Year's?"

It's one of the questions you'll be asked the most throughout December. Everyone wants to know where you'll watch the ball drop. How you'll ring in the new year. Where you'll sing Auld Lang Syne.

Before you tear down your holiday decorations, pack away those ugly (gorgeous) sweaters, and promise you'll stick to a resolution for real this time, you have one more soiree to look forward to. Cleveland offers a wide variety of ways to say goodbye to 2017, giving you a solid response to that popular year-end question.

NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTIES AND PACKAGES

The Cleveland POPs Orchestra Legends of Rock and Roll New Year's Eve Celebration
For more than two decades, The Cleveland Pops Orchestra and Conductor Carl Topilow have put on a wildly entertaining New Year’s Eve party at Severance Hall, lighting up the stage with first-rate entertainment. A two-hour concert is followed by a dance party to ring in the New Year featuring two live bands playing music from the 50s-90s in both the elegant Grand Foyer and the spacious Smith Lobby.

Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar New Year's Eve Celebration
Enjoy an all-request evening of live piano music with friends while you sing and dance in the new year. Bing Bang offers several packages including guaranteed table seating and multiple ways to skip the lines and cover charges, though it's likely you'll be on your feet as the pianos won't stop playing until long after the ball drops.

New Year's Eve Windows on the River
One of Cleveland's most popular New Year's bashes, Windows on the River offers three rooms of entertainment as well as access to the Cleveland Aquarium. Purchasing tickets gets you a top shelf open bar, a balloon drop, photo booths and much more. Tickets WILL sell out for this event, so be sure to purchase yours soon. THIS JUST IN: this event is waiting list only.

Nighttown
The classic jazz club on the East side is a Cleveland staple and it's living up to that billing by hosting five separate concerts on New Year's Eve. Live shows will take place throughout the night starting at 7:30 p.m. both inside and on the heated outdoor patio.

Pickwick & Frolic
Pickwick & Frolic offers a variety of packages ranging from a cabaret show, stand-up comedy, or an option for those who prefer to be on their feet dancing 2017 away to live music. They have a buffet-style dinner and, if you want to be in the middle of the action in Cleveland, there's no better place to celebrate than E. 4th Street.

Gervasi Vineyard's New Year Eve at The Crush House
Who wouldn't love a four-course meal and champagne as part of your New Year's Eve celebration? You'll be entertained by a DJ all evening long, be a part of a balloon drop at midnight and walk away with a party favor.

Irish New Year's at Stone Mad
Stone Mad is more than just a gorgeous pub with bocce ball. For New Year's Eve, they'll offer live Irish music from The Kilroys, specialty dinners and a countdown to 7 p.m., when the clock will strike midnight in Ireland. The party will go on all night long though, so you can usher in 2018 with a Guinness and a Slainte!

"Decades and Diamonds" at The Vault
Located in the Metropolitan Hotel at The 9, The Vault has quickly become known as one of the swankier spots in Cleveland. Enjoy complimentary beer, wine, hors d'oeuvres and champagne (included in your ticket price) during this speakeasy-style party, complete with live entertainment all night long.

80s All The Way to '18 at Wilbert's
If you're an 80s baby (or just a fan), head to Wilbert's Downtown and enjoy their retro-themed party. You'll enjoy 80s music and 80s-style cocktails with a BBQ buffet and a costume contest with prizes going to the most decked out 80s-themed outfits.

Music Box Supper Club: All That Glitters
Music Box's party features live music from The Sunrise Jones, a five-piece cover band, and you'll also get food and drink tickets, favors and a champagne toast. This West Bank of the Flats staple is a great way to boogie into the new year.

New Year's Eve Gala on the Nautica Queen
Speaking of The Flats, not only can you enjoy a party on the waterfront, but thanks to the Nautica Queen, you can watch the ball drop from the water itself. Enjoy two separate dance floors with DJs, an unlimited buffet and a bottle of champagne for every couple on this five-hour party... ON A BOAT!

East End Restaurant & Bar
Why wait until the evening to get things started? East End is opening the doors a 3 p.m. with a cash bar until 10 p.m., at which point they transition to their NYE packages. You'll enjoy guest DJs, giveaways, buffet style food and much more all day long.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAM

Great Lakes Science Center's New Year's Eve EVE
The Great Lakes Science Center is bringing back their traditional "New Year's Eve Eve" party on Dec. 30 so families can enjoy both this AND a night out on the town the following day. At 2:18 p.m., following a fruitcake explosion countdown, they'll drop 2018 balloons from the top level of the Wintergarden atrium in celebration of the new year.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo NOON Year's Eve
This one is for the kiddies and adult revelers alike! Kick off the New Year with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Celebrate Noon Year's Eve with a dance party, roaming characters and a special countdown at the stroke of noon. The Cleveland Zoo is a unique gem in the Metroparks loaded with rare and beautiful animals. No noisemakers, please. You don't want to scare our furry (or not so furry) friends.

Cloud Nothings at the Beachland Ballroom
