Pack your trip with these Cleveland activities

Planning to be in Cleveland for NEOCycle 2017, taking place Sept. 8-10? If not, you should be (it's the largest urban cycling festival in the nation, after all).

Click here to see a detailed breakdown of the schedule and to register.

While you're in town, there's a lot to do between rides--or extend your trip before and after the event for some extra fun. Here are a few ideas for you.

Cleveland Indians Baseball
Depending on which races you plan to join, you may be able to catch an Indians baseball game in between rides. The Tribe is in town hosting the Baltimore Orioles Friday at 7:10 p.m., Saturday at 1:05 p.m., and Sunday at 1:10 p.m. If you're pedaling and partying at NEOCycle during all of those times, don't fret! Extend your trip and you can catch a game vs. the Detroit Tigers Monday or Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. or Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. at Progressive Field.

Cleveland Browns Football
If you're more into sports of the pigskin variety, head over to FirstEnergy Stadium at 1 p.m. on Sunday for a showdown vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Put on your game face as the rival teams go head to head.

Bacon and Kegs
Between mountain biking and Night Riding on Saturday, you can swing over to the East Bank of the Flats in Downtown Cleveland for the inaugural East Bank Bacon & Kegs festival. The free event takes place on the waterfront from noon to 10 p.m., so you won't have to miss any of the NEOCycle races to enjoy bacon, beer and live music in the revitalized Cleveland hotspot.

Continue the active life
Keep your blood pumping by taking advantage of Cleveland's many urban outdoor options. We've got a great lake--our own mini ocean. We've got miles and miles of trails for hiking, biking or jogging. We've got a river running through the city, 18 Metropark reservations surrounding it, and a bona fide national park in our backyard. Plan your urban outdoor activities with these suggestions.
