Your Guide to Tournament Time in The Land

In town for NCAA’s and not sure how to spend your time outside of the Q? Don’t stress, we set up a Cleveland itinerary just for you. Structured around each session of the tourney, this guide shows you how to experience Cleveland like a pro.

Day 1 - Wednesday: Pre-Match Warmup

West Side Market

Just arrived and need some groceries for the next few days? Look no further than the West Side Market. Even though you’ll be there for the food, the experience itself makes this gem worth visiting.

Happy Dog

Luckily, most of you don't have to worry about cutting weight anymore. [That alone is worth celebrating.] Start your night off by stepping out of your comfort zone, throw some Froot Loops on that hot dog and wash it down with a cold one. Come as you are.

Market Garden Brewery

This isn’t your standard brewery. It’s a creative-menu-meets-amazing-beer combination that’ll leave you happy and stuffed. It is located on West 25th Street in Ohio City, one of Cleveland's most beer-centric nightlife destinations.

Lee Road

Staying closer to the east side of Cleveland? Lee Road is the place to eat—no matter your unique tastes. This is one of the most culturally diverse culinary neighborhoods in The Land.

Day 2 - Thursday: First Period

Jack Flaps

Jack Flaps is the spot for an epic breakfast—perfect before the first whistle blows. It’s located across the street from the Q inside the 5th Street Arcades.

NCAA Wrestling Fan Fest

After Session I, head over to the Convention Center for the jam-packed Fan Fest featuring an autograph session with Dan Gable and Larry Owings; a USA Wrestling Practice; and the USA Wrestling Feature Match.

East 4th St

Need to kill some time before the next session starts at 7pm? East 4th Street is a two-minute walk from the Q. This pedestrian-only street is filled with a large, diverse selection of bars and restaurants.

Punch Bowl Social

Still energized from an awesome day of wrestling? Quit stalling and accept the fact that you're staying out. Head to the Flats East Bank. Punch Bowl Social is a gigantic bar-restaurant-game room with so much room for activities.

Day 3 - Friday: Second Period

Before Session III starts at 11am, get over to the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood to find a place that combines two of Cleveland's greatest passions: donuts and craft beer.

Need some fresh air after Session III? Just a short walk from the Q sits our newly designed Public Square. It’s here where you'll find REBoL, a restaurant where healthy and delicious go hand in hand.

Cleveland Breweries

Cleveland’s known for our endless breweries. Each one offers its own unique spin—all while staying true to their Cleveland roots.

JACK Casino Cleveland

Keep the night rolling and try your luck at the JACK Casino Cleveland, just a few steps from the Q.

Day 4 - Saturday: Third Period

Merwin's Wharf

St. Patrick's Day. In Cleveland. The same day as the NCAA Finals. Yes, this is real life. Bring the entire family to Merwin's Wharf to start the day right. No matter what school you’re supporting, be sure to wear some green.

There's no better way to celebrate being Irish (or pretending to be) than taking down a world-famous corned beef sandwich…on St. Patrick's Day…in Cleveland. Slyman’s Restaurant is open from 9am-1pm, so if you’re going to Session V at 11am, plan accordingly.

Forest City Shuffleboard

If you’re looking for something else to do away from the downtown craziness—this is it. You’re going to have some time to kill before the Finals, so why not spend it doing the Forest City Shuffle with some friends?

East Fourth Street on St. Patrick's Day is a must-do for Clevelander's. If you’re looking to be right in the thick of things after Session V, head straight to Flannery's. From there, make your way up and down the street, which is packed with bars and restaurants. There's no scene quite like East 4th on St Patty's Day.

Day 5 - Sunday: Overtime

Grumpy's Cafe

We'll argue Grumpy's eggs rival some of the great scrambles you saw this weekend. Get ready for some Cleveland-style comfort food.

Cleveland Script Signs

On your way out, take advantage of our ultimate photo opp. Stop by one of our five script signs (including the airport, so no excuses) for the perfect Cleveland sendoff.

Don’t wrestle with the thought of staying in. Go out and explore The Land. We’re glad you’re here. Now, go make the most of it.
