For Your Viewing Pleasure

LeBron James soars in the night sky above you. A live band and your favorite beverage are before you. The iconic Cleveland skyline towers behind you. A mighty river flows beside you. No, you’re not in the midst of an interesting dream. You’re enjoying a typical summer evening at Major Hoopples bar in The Flats.
Located on a rise overlooking the Cuyahoga River, Hoopples arguably has the most scenic views in the entire city. This stuff is pure postcard – the river, the skyline and those awe-inspiring, historic bridges.
Speaking of bridges, Hoopples actually projects Cavs and Indians’ games on a bridge that rises above their spacious back patio. So your larger-than-heroes truly become larger than life. They also feature great live music on the very same patio. It’s simply a must-see, must-hear, one-of-a-kind experience.
And if you hunger for even more, the Hoopples menu offers far more than standard bar food. From house specialty mussels and seared Ahi tuna to hearty chicken and dumplings and Reservoir Dogs (hot dogs topped with bacon, kraut and stadium mustard).
Owned by the Norm Plonski family, who also run the equally fun and funky Parkview Niteclub in the Detroit Shoreway area, the Hoopples building was built in 1898. It was once a general store and a boarding house. Thankfully, it was purchased by the Plonski family in 1981 and transformed into a Cleveland classic.
Yes, since 1981, Hoopples has been home to spectacular views, great sports, fine music, quality food and all-around good fun. Can you ask more of a laid back, down-to-earth bar? The short answer is no.
