10 Places for Late-Night Dining

Late-night munchies are the best kind of munchies, especially after a long night of consuming and commiserating with friends. For those of you who don't have dinner leftovers waiting for you to smash, don't worry. There are plenty of Cleveland joints with kitchens open till last call. Let's talk hot dogs, BYO tacos, pierogi and, of course, pizza by the slice. Grab an Uber, call a cab or request a Lyft, and get going ...

Bar Cento

Take your pick from 13 unique pizzas at Bar Cento in Ohio City. Near and far, the Sunnyside pizza is a fan favorite with its house-made pancetta and eggs fried right into the pie. If, for some weird reason, you aren't in the mood for pizza, Bar Cento has quite the extensive late-night menu, including a cornucopia of pommes frites that are served with classic ketchup and curry, garlic, and red-pepper aioli. (Food available until 2 a.m. daily)

There's something special about having a full say in every aspect of how your taco is assembled. Same thing with the queso, which can be ordered in various combinations mixed into the dip. One of our faves? The "stoner queso," which is a mixture of gooey, hot cheese and soft, sticky white rice. The chorizo queso also is amazing. Check out a Barrio location in Tremont, Lakewood, Willoughby, Cleveland Heights or Downtown. (Full menu available until 2 a.m.)

Beer Engine

A sunnyside egg dripping from a thick, juicy burger. Mac and cheese fried up into little bites. Wings. Menu items like this practically scream late night. Thanks to Buckeye Beer Engine in Lakewood, you can not only nom their red-eye menu, but wash it all down with one of their dozens and dozens of craft brews. (Late-night menu available from 12-2 a.m. daily.)

Butcher & The Brewer

Wash down chorizo tacos, baked pretzels and smoked corn dogs with one of Butcher & The Brewer's crafted-on-site beers at this East Fourth Street hotspot. (Late-night menu from 12-2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.)

Edison's Pizza Kitchen

Edison's in Tremont serves up some of the thickest, cheesiest pizza around. If you're a ranch dipper, the portion sizes are large, which is always a good thing. Word on the street is that you're supposed to dip the parmesan-dusted crust in honey. (Kitchen open on Fridays and Saturdays until 2:30 a.m.)

Happy Dog

Live polka music and hot dogs at 1am? Yes, please. Happy Dog, which boasts locations on both the east and west sides, offers some insane toppings like spaghetti-o's and fruit roll ups. It's basically the most perfect post-drinking menu ever. (Kitchen closes at 12:30 a.m. on Fridays and 2:30 a.m. on Saturdays.)

Lago East Bank

Feeling a little fancy as you close in on last call? Dive into homemade meatballs, popcorn puttanesca and white balsamic & rosemary chips at Lago within the East Bank of the Flats. (Late-night menu available daily until 1:30 a.m.)

Prosperity Social Club

Prosperity Social Club in Tremont is an obvious advocate of eating passed your bedtime. In true Cleveland fashion, pierogi is on the menu. But these pierogi are legit (seriously). Ed's Pita Nachos and the potato pancakes are also great late-night options. (Kitchen open until midnight daily.)

The South Side

How do mac and cheese pierogi sound when you've got a little late-night buzz? How about something called "Fat Kid Nachos?" Yeah, sounds pretty amazing to us, too. The South Side has always been a favorite joint in the Tremont neighborhood. There's just something about all the good vibes, champagne cocktails and amazing food. (Late-night menu served until 2 a.m.)

Cheeseburgers and tacos until last call? Yes, please. Townhall is practically an Ohio City institution. This place, which always seems to cater to the "it" crowd, serves up 35 beers on tap and menu items for both the healthy and not-so-healthy among us. (Late-night menu available until close.)

InCuya Music Festival

Need a pre-curser to your impending late-night dining? Check out InCuya, Downtown Cleveland's first and only outdoor music festival happening Aug. 25-26, 2018. Visit to purchase tickets and learn more.
