You can gamble. You can dine. You can fanatically root for your favorite team. Or you can simply sit back and take in the sights, the lights, the sounds and the spectacular excitement that surrounds you. The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland is definitely more than a one-dimensional experience.
Located in the historic hub of a city undergoing an amazing transformation, the Horseshoe is more than just a risk-taker's paradise. Let's start with the two full floors slot machines. There are more than 1,600 of the newest slots, including nearly 200 video poker machines. You can wager a frugal penny per pull to a high-rolling $500 for a single bet. And this just in: A Christmas Story slot machines have been installed in time for the holidays.
For gambling with more of a social spirit, take your seat at a thrilling table game. From blackjack and craps to baccarat and roulette, you'll have many ways to woo Lady Luck. And for that gaming adventure in the highest demand, the Horseshoe has an entire room dedicated to poker, featuring the insanely popular Texas Hold'em.
Now, of course, all this sensory stimulation is sure to make you hungry. Here, the Horseshoe offers an abundance of delicious options. For an extra-large appetite, feast on The Spread buffet. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Spread has seven unique stations with food from all over the world. For a quicker bite, choose Corky & Lenny's (traditional deli), B-Spot (gourmet burgers) or Rosie & Rocco's (Italian). To quench your grown-up thirst, unwind at TAG Lounge and Bar, Legends Bar or Vintage 51.
So what make the Horseshoe stand out from other area casinos? "What makes it so special is that we're in the heart of downtown, not in the outskirts of the city," says Shannon Mortland, Director of Public Relations. "And we're in a beautiful historic building that so many people have fond memories of."
Mortland is referring to the Higbee's department store that used to call the casino's space home. The beloved store was a community staple for more than 130 years, and was the recording location for several scenes in A Christmas Story's, including when Ralphie asks Santa for Red Ryder BB Gun. The building became home to several stores during the 1990s and then closed in January 2002 for five years. The Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Partnership occupied the space until it was completely remodeled in 2011 and then reopened as the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland in 2012.
Throughout the holidays, the Horseshoe Casino will be decked-out with many original decorations from the Higbee's department store.
