Flats Festival of the Arts
Artists from across the nation will line the East Bank of the Flats
By Heather Tunstall
Cleveland is at it again, with another rockin' festival to feed your need for culture, food and fun. Oh, and it's on the waterfront, so, bonus!
The Flats Festival of the Arts is taking place August 19-21 down on the East Bank. The inaugural event will showcase talented artist from around the country displaying their creations--from paintings to ceramics, jewelry to sculpture, woodworking to photography and more.
While you're perusing the artwork, feed your face with some of the best Cleveland food from one of the stands or one of the Flats 14 on-site dining options. While you're noshing, head over to the performance pavilion and check out local music acts and dancers, who will be providing entertainment all weekend.
The Flats Festival of the Arts is fun, sure, but it also is a feel-good kind of event. Your attendance will support children's education both here and in Africa, through the non-profit organization H.E.L.P. and The Cleveland School of the Arts.
So, give the kids a hand by going out and enjoying yourselves (it's really a win-win).
Head out for a day, or go crazy with a weekend pass. Just make sure to be responsible if you imbibe--the RTA Waterfront Line has a stop right at the festival's entrance, or use an Uber to get you where you need to go.
