Fans vs. the Fanfare
A Rally Cry for the 2014 Cleveland IndiansBy Chris Crowell
In 2013, Cleveland Indians baseball fans came for the dollar dogs and ended up staying for a brief playoff run. Will that post-season excitement carry over into 2014? Well, Indians fans are forever hopeful. It's time to make this year different.
Progressive Field is equipped with the cheapest beers in the MLB, famous Bertman Original Ball Park Mustard, and the even more famous John Adams (that guy drumming in the bleachers). Let's recap the off-season: Gone are Ubaldo Jimenez, Scott Kazmir, and closer Chris Perez. New faces include outfielder David Murphy, closer John Axford, and a reliever with the awesome last name of "Outman."
Just remember: Anyone can go to Opening Day, fireworks games (17 this year), bobblehead days (four), dollar dog nights (13!), or other cool giveaway days (Larry Doby jersey, July 5, or Aviator sunglasses, Aug. 13). Some suggestions:
