By Tricia Chaves
From tried-and-true faves to buzzy new entries, Clevelanders are living their best life when it comes to the growing donut scene.
To quote the words of the great Homer J. Simpson, "Mmmm...donuts."
Homer Simpson would love Cleveland because, not only do we have great donuts, but we're home to a shop that puts local beer inside their donuts.
Yes, beer donuts. And, the name of the donut shop is Brewnuts. It's located in the Gordon Square Arts District where they're serving up a variety of donuts baked or coated with delectable beery concoctions.
One that we personally love: the maple bacon. It's a regular on the menu and features a delightful maple glaze adorned with tons of crunchy bacon. The menu is ever changing and is based on brews, seasons, holidays and, frankly, what's happening in Cleveland at the moment. Be insta-ready, because these dones are just as beautiful to look at, as they are to eat.
Located in Fairview Park on Cleveland's west side, Becker's has been a family tradition since 1952 with specialties including donuts that are of the filled, yeast-raised, and cake varieties.
Bigmouth Donut Co. spans both east (Hub 55) and west (Hingetown) with its decadent donut outposts.
Head to Old Brooklyn, where award-winning Jack Frost Donuts has been around since 1937.
Groovy rock posters and 70s-themed eats await at Peace, Love, and Little Donuts in West Park.
"Cloud-like" might be the best way to describe the center of Spudnuts famous donuts, which are uniquely made with potato flour.
