Where to Crash During Cleveland Rock Week
By Lexi Hotchkiss
So, you're in town for Cleveland Rock Week and want to stay downtown? Excellent. Welcome!
First thing's first, book your travel accommodations NOW! This music-fueled week draws tens of thousands of visitors who - like you - need a place to crash.
Secondly, you should know that downtown Cleveland is incredibly walkable - rated by organizations that enjoy ranking those sorts of things. Long story short: You won't find an attraction that's more than a 20-minute walk away. So, all of Cleveland's downtown hotels make stellar spots to stay for your Rock Week festivities.
Third, we're not ashamed to admit that we're public transportation nerds around here. Thanks to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA), our fine city is easily accessed on FREE green trolleys that traverse downtown on a series of easy-to-understand routes. Did we mention they're free?
So, without further ado, here's the scoop on where you can rest your cabeza downtown during Cleveland Rock Week.
The Main Event
Whether you've already got a coveted ticket to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Public Hall or you're simply planning to watch the live simulcast inside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, you'll want to catch some Z's near the action. Good thing both of these attractions are within a hop-skip-and-a-jump from some well-known hotel properties:
- Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center
- Doubletree by Hilton Cleveland Downtown - Lakeside
- Hampton Inn Downtown
- The Westin Cleveland Downtown
Party Like A Rock Star
If your Cleveland Rock Week motto is "Party Like a Rock Star," then you best be finding proper accommodations to sleep off an epic hangover. Much of the Cleveland Rock Week action will happen in the Gateway District and the East Fourth Street Entertainment District where you'll be met with nosh-worthy establishments, cocktail lounges, celeb-chef eateries, music venues and even a brewery. So, go ahead, live it up like a rock star at one of these properties, but unlike many legendary rockers, just don't trash the hotel room.
- Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown
- Holiday Inn Express (Downtown Cleveland)
- Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade
- Radisson Hotel Cleveland Gateway
- The Residence Inn by Marriott - Cleveland Downtown
Possible Celeb-Sighting Territory
Most rockers spent their formative years on concert tours inside seedy, truck-stop motels. So, can you really blame them for opting for a more red-carpet experience inside upscale hotels now that they're a big deal? Be one with your inner VIP and glam it up at one of these Cleveland luxuries. Who knows, you might just rub eyeballs with the likes of Joan Jett, Billie Joe Armstrong or Ringo Starr.
- InterContinental Hotel & Conference Center Cleveland
- Metropolitan Hotel at the 9
- The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland
- The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel

Cleveland's famous for a style that's a mix of grit and sophistication. And, there's no greater place to witness this unmistakably Cleveland vibe than at the Aloft Cleveland Downtown in the bustling, burgeoning East Bank of the Flats.

Outside of Downtown
In other good news, Cleveland crows thousands of hotel rooms outside of downtown's limits, which also often means you can save some serious mullah. Here are some nearby hotels outside the city:
