Destinations magazine names three Cleveland locations in their Best of the Best list.

ABA's Destinations magazine has named its picks for the 2016 Best of the Best. And guess what? Cleveland area attractions nabbed three of the top spots.

The Cleveland Orchestra, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, and Great Lakes Science Center all made this year's list of the best destinations and events in the U.S. and Canada. ABA selects winners based on qualitative and quantitative evaluations of entries.

The Cleveland Orchestra was highlighted as "the most European of American orchestras," and Severance Hall noted as "one of the three best concert halls in the world." And it's no wonder: the orchestra goes above and beyond the typical concert. The elite musicians also hold pop-up performances in Cleveland's neighborhoods that feature a series of free shows in unexpected places. Don't be surprised if you see a master violinist entertaining at a local hot dog joint. And best of all for student groups, the orchestra offers a Classical Music Rocks package, which combines a concert at Severance Hall with a trip to the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is called out as one of the great historic homes in our nation alongside the likes of Monticello, Biltmore, and Mount Vernon. The former private residence of F.A. Seiberling, the cofounder of Goodyear Tire, Stan Hywet now is open to the public for tours of its buildings and grounds. The estate is popular year round, with garden tours highlighting the warmer months, and the annual holiday spectacular "Deck the Hall" lighting up the winter.

Great Lakes Science Center is a must-stop for student groups, as it is an epicenter for learning (but in a really cool, hands-on way). Destinations magazine calls out the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, as well as the adjacent steamship, the William G. Mather, both of which can be explored while visiting the Science Center. There's also a six-story-high OMNIMAX Theater, where groups can experience panoramic movie magic.
