5 Reasons to Night Ride
Register Now for NEOCycle's Night Ride
By Kevin Carpenter
Throw on a helmet and light up Cleveland's Memorial Shoreway on Sept. 8 at the Night Ride during NEOCycle 2018, the nation's largest urban cycling fest. Set out at 8 p.m. from Edgewater Park with 2,000 kindred spirits - ranging from novices to the pros - for what many consider the highlight of the weekend. Where else can you bike along the city's edge without any pesky cars to spoil the moment?
5. Glow Big or Go Home
Since Night Ride is ... well, at night ... every bike needs a front light. After all, safety comes first. But why stop with just one? Grab a glow stick at the starting line and deck out your bike like the Vegas strip. Trust us, the brighter the better. At Night Ride, neon never goes out of style.
4. No Cars Allowed
Cyclists rule the road at Night Ride. No honking horns or dodging traffic on the Eastbound Shoreway - just a nice spin along our beautiful lakefront. Whether leisurely cruising with friends or going all out for a personal best, take a sec to savor the freedom of this car-free course.
3. Night Ride is for Everyone
All skill levels are welcome on this seven-mile looped course. Trish Sanders notched her first Night Ride last year and can't wait for another go-round this September. "I highly recommend Night Ride," she explains. "It's a great way to spend time with family and friends, be active and enjoy the city. I can't say enough good things about the event."
2. Jaw-Dropping Views
Lake Erie aglow at sunset. FirstEnergy Stadium on the eve of another NFL season. The illuminated downtown skyline. We're talking about unforgettable photo ops here. Looking to give your pics an extra boost? Try out the Night Ride geofilters on Snapchat.
1. After-Party at The Hub
Don't worry, the live music will still be rocking when Night Riders finish up back at The Hub in Edgewater Park. Scope out the bands on stage, refuel at the food trucks and "cool down" with a little dancing. Sounds like the perfect end to a perfect night.
